ACCESSING PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES
There are a number of referral pathways to explore if you are looking to access psychology services.
Fees + Rebates
medicare
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, ​you will be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate of ​$96.65 on the cost of your appointment, for up to 10 ​appointments per calendar year. After Medicare, the out-of-pocket cost for your appointment is $92.95.
DVA
If you have a veteran number and approval from the Department of Veterans Affairs, you can access unlimited therapy sessions with no out-of-pocket cost. A claim will be sent to DVA for payment after each session.
NDIS
If you are a Self-Managed or Plan-Managed NDIS participant with funding under Improved Daily Living, psychology services are billed at $222.99 per hour. The number of sessions you can access is determined by the amount of funding allocated to psychology in your NDIS Plan.
PRIVATE HEALTH
The fee for private therapy is $189.60 per session. You may be entitled to a rebate through your private health fund depending on your level of cover. Clients paying privately will receive a copy of the paid invoice for each session to provide to the private health fund.
